explore again plein air painting. These two collages are a combo of Japanese rice paper with sumi ink, acrylic, photos and found images. These 2 collages will be shown at VAM Gallery in Metuchen, NJ in  Convergence 2013, Reception Fri Jun 7, 6-8pm. Show runs through June.

Ghost Ranch, New Mexico

A week in Abiquiu is like a month anywhere else...the changing light...the clear skies...brilliant stars at night and no outdoor electric lights. You follow the sun as it makes its way from east to south to west and casts shadows and illuminates the sculptural multicolored cliffs.

Monhegan Island

Just spent the last two glorious weeks painting outdoors everyday on Monhegan Island, off the coast of Maine. The weather and light were terrific. I got to hike to the far side of the island and see White Head and Black Head, rocky cliffs with crashing waves. Worked around Fish Beach, the Harbor and up on a high hill overlooking the tiny village. I now have 20 paintings to finish! The island has many painters.

"FOOD" at SUNY ULSTER

A new exhibit at SUNY Ulster of 25 Hudson Valley artists curated by Mary Anne Erickson entitled FOOD will run from March 13 to April 17 , Mondays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and by appointment. The gallery will be closed March 16 to 21 for spring recess.

The Cosmic Garden Series 2008

Costa Rica led me to further explore natural phenomena in 2008 ultimately creating 22 pen/ink on Arches botanically inspired images that follow the changing aspects of the natural world. A brochure of 12 images is available and selected limited edition prints.

Updates

My newest work in early 2009 are watercolors and drawings created in St. John, US Virgin Islands.

These watercolors and others were created the winter of 2007 at the Julia and David White Art Colony in Ciudad Colon, Costa Rica. They will be exhibited in a two person show next March at the Galeria Nacional in San Jose, Costa Rica.
